The coins dropped off the table. I closely observed the supremacy of the gravity, before the coins surrendered themselves to it and the tantalizing sound slowly faded. I pestered my lethargic body to tilt, in order to pick those coins. I wasn’t parsimonious, but then I wasn’t affluent either. Also, I didn’t want any unprecedented attention from the people around me, who were quietly relishing their lunch in these flamboyant settings. It took me around two-three seconds before I perched back on my seat. What happened next, changed my life if not ended it.
The next moment I found myself squatted on the ground. I was horrified. The unbecoming realm frightened me to death. The earthy landscape with a deafening silence was hovering around me, trying to shout at me without causing any resonance.
“It has to be a dream. It cannot be real. It will cease before this astonishment slays me.” I thought to myself.
I was wrong.
I smacked my chest in exasperation, but if was of no help.
“Damn, Damn, Damn…” – I repeated multiple times as I kicked the stones lying on the ground. It hurt me, on my foot. That at least assured me that I was alive, and it was not a dream. My foot was bruised, I could see the blood flowing out, but I preferred to remain silent.
That was when I learnt the first lesson of solitude – Our reactions are bridled by the people around us.
I cried.
I cried for the first time in my life. I cried because I wanted to. Somewhere inside, I was secretly pleading for the end of this predicament. I was pleading to God, the same God whose existence was always a matter of question for me. But now, something in this woeful planet told me – God exists.
It was my second lesson – When there’s nothing, there’s no one, there exists the creator, the destroyer, who cannot be seen or felt yet… could be found in our minds.
I looked around in despair. I was surrounded by lush green hills and I found myself immersed in that green static world.
“Am I dead?” the dubious thought traversed through my mind.
I ambled forward, trying to create a new path on the uniform land. It was devastating to me to sense the deafening silence that was perturbing me, without missing a single moment.
I had taken only few strides when this unexpected thing occurred to me. At that time I had no allusion that it would teach me the third and the most important lesson. I stopped and contemplated closely, what was right in front of my eyes. That was when I first saw her…
To be continued…
