As the world has come closer, it has also posed a challenge to come to terms with alien beliefs which might be incompatible with your own. This is certainly true in case of Islam – the discrimination against Muslims is increasingly commonplace. But, why Muslims in particular? I don’t know that. If you have the answer, I will be happy to hear.
Personally, I don’t like the term Islamophobia and try to avoid it. It is used by many to slander anyone who has even a slight concern regarding Islam.
Yes, it must be acknowledged that the tensions between Muslims and non-Muslims have increased in recent times. In a number of places, Muslims have been persecuted by non-Muslims, and vice versa.
Why is it so?
In my opinion, there is a huge misunderstanding between the two groups. This is even more true for India where Hindus and Muslims have a lot of issues. But I am hopeful. I feel, these misunderstandings can be corrected, provided we make an effort. In this page, I will try to have conversations with a number of Muslim friends and raise concerns put forward by non-Muslims from around the world.
