This is My Day !!

Dear people,

You scream at me, you shout at me, and when I try to speak out something, you kick me, throw stones at me, or thrash me to display your bogus strength. Yes, I am a dog. So what? Do I do the same because you are humans and drastically different from me? Do I say I am better than you? No, I don’t. Because I don’t believe in comparatives and superlatives. I can smell that some of you are already disagreeing without comprehending my points. But that’s all right. I am familiar with your bizarre disposition. I will still try to put forward my perspective and hope that you do get it this time.

37256-dog-thinking

I am loyal. I never admire backstabbing or being deceitful. You keep confessing you are good people and you don’t do bad things. Seriously? Havn’t u ever been disloyal – to your friends, family, strangers and least of all- creatures like me? Do you always tell the truth and never manipulate the facts to get the context in your favor? I can stand by my words for being truthful and trustworthy. Adherence to ethics in your case remains flawed – No matter you are Gandhi or Buddha. Of course your deceitful nature and your smart tactics had allowed you to get there, where you are today. And my breed was left behind. Because we chose love over prudence, honesty over deceiving and loyalty over backstabbing.

Your intelligence allows you to pass judgments on others. I have a question for you – How does your conscience allow you to do that? What someone else is doing, is none of your business – I have heard such philosophical quotations from some of you. Oh! I go that – you are the entities of philosophy, who stay far from practicality. What you say and what you do are in a Six Sigma harmony. That reminds me – some of you are capable of doing even bigger drama. Showing sympathy on us on social networking sites. Just by showing you are kindhearted, you do not become one. Moreover, I keep requesting you not to show your courtesy to me. But to your fellow humans. They need it more.

You take pride in your precocity and you say that you’re capable of doing smart things, which I unquestionably believe. But, what if I tell you that I understand everything and choose not to respond. Because I find you stupid. If you were intelligent you would treat everyone equally. And you don’t do that. For me everyone is equal. Myself, my family and even you. Don’t ask about cats. Else I will have to remind you about Darwin’s theory of evolution.

We have no complaints, but there are times when we feel frustrated about what you do. That’s all right, we don’t mind much. We will still forgive you, forget everything and hope that one day you will understand, you will grow mature and reasonable.

Sincerely,

A Street Dog.

Everything You Need To Know About Money #1

We talk about money all the time. Some of us find it evil, while others chase it for their happiness and satisfaction. Before coming to any conclusion, we will have to understand how did money come in to existence. I will start from the very basics. And in the subsequent posts, I will talk about money in more detail. First of all, let’s figure out its origin through the narrative below.

The Origin of Money:

Once upon a time there lived Jack and Jill in a permanent abode in rural settings. They loved each other as an ideal couple should – spending more time in making love, than doing anything else. That’s probably because they were the only people who they thought existed. For them, this was the world. They haven’t seen anyone else and believed that the world existed in that abode.

The life was hard at times, as they were far away from the comforts and the luxuries that we relish today. However they had mastered the art of survival and did enough work to make their living. They did their chores and while doing so they assisted each other in various tasks. When one felt lazy, or was not feeling well, the other worked harder and made things easier. Time passed and they had children and they they had many. It was due to the lack of other activities available to them. They had stopped counting after 10. That was all they could count with their fingers. Few years later they had grandchildren. The family had started to live in separate houses now, but still they were quite close to each other eternally.

Jungle-Family-disney-crossover-32614024-500-272

Jack was old now. He wanted his future generations to do the Karma and not get anything without working. He called his posterity and asked them to follow his advice. He asked them to exchange favors whenever one individual helped the other. For example, if one washed the utensils of others, the others would have to return the favor by doing some work for that person. They all agreed. Soon, they made more modifications in this rule as per their convenience. They started exchanging gifts (like vegetables, fruits, clothes) as a return of favor. Also, they divided the work on the basis of their expertise. Those who were good at cooking did only cooking and nothing else. Others who were good at different tasks did the rest of things for them. Similarly the other workers emerged.

The inconvenience grew with growing population as the exchange of gifts was causing disputes. People wanted all kind of pleasures through different services. Also the society had grown and had a number of people. But intelligence was not rare in their community. The solution was invented soon. They devised a unit – made of stones by cutting it in a specific shape and made it a symbol of exchange. For example – if one possessed that stone then he/she could get vegetables, fruits, cooking service etc by giving it to the other person.

You know what that stone was…

Money.

Being a Lover – How tough is that?

How many times do we hear – Love is overrated. I feel amused when so many young boys and girls express the agony of their break ups by saying – Love doesn’t exist, Being friends is better than loversRelationships suck … and there are many more. On the contrary, I believe it’s the most challenging role. It may sound juvenile, but think about it. We all go through the relationships and often come up with our own version to the relationship theory. Being a lover is a tough job. How tough? Let’s try to figure it out. I am going to present my case by asking three simple questions. Ask yourself, and then decide.

1. How many expectations do you have from other relations? It’s not that bad to have expectations but sooner or later when they grow they start to eat the happiness in it. You expect them(your lover) to be with you, talk to you, take care of you all the time. You expect them to behave decently in public. You expect them to do good things. And very often they meet those expectations. Do you start bitching about your siblings if they don’t call you often? No you don’t right. So why do the same with your lover. Do not rush – Let them breathe. Remember when you are expecting to do something for you, you are changing them from who they really are. One great psychologist had suggested that happiness lies in – freedom to work and freedom to love. Let them have that freedom.

2. How much tolerance do you show with your lovers? The greatest relationship in this world is that of a parent and child. You know the reason? Parents show their tolerance when it is required- when the child acts stupid. Similarly children also accept certain things which they don’t appreciate in their parents. Forgiveness is essential for any relation. But when it comes to lovers, you often miss these aspects. One mistake and you start to jolt the whole world. It’s not a big deal. Take things easy.

funny-lovers-accident

3. How good is your Evaluation Process? Judgement is bad, and ironically it can never be justified. It has even more relevance in relationships. Let’s look at it from a different prospective – how managers assess their employees’ performance.  They set the targets and give them a reasonable time to work on it. If the employees meet the goals then they get the appreciation and if they don’t, they are called for the meetings and discussions take place. That’s what the great companies do. You know what not so good companies do. The same that not so good people do in relationships. They take decisions based on emotions and ignore the efforts that the other person had put in. Of course, one cannot take emotions out in relationships but taking haste decisions often lead to lifelong regrets.

My point is – being a lover is a tough job. It tests your patience, checks your character and demands persistence. No, I don’t mean you have to hang on with something that you don’t like. But you have to give them the credit that they deserve. That’s all. Case closed.

PS: If you haven’t thanked your lover for doing such a wonderful job, do it now. It’s a small thing but will definitely make them smile.

Don’t choose any and walk on a different path

Which leads you to the excellence and makes you

But live your life.

If emotions test you and ask you to choose from two paths

One goes to the melody of happiness and other to the

Don’t choose any and go to a different path

Which has nothing but selflessness.

If judgment tests you and questions you to choose from two paths,

Don’t choose any and take a different path,

in the world of beauty and desire

I would’ve waited for a true affair…

If you were the words so long,

and i were a melody,

together we would make a love song…

If you were I and I were you

I would have been the first one

to say I love you…

If you ever, ever cried,

I would become a tear and

inside your eyes, i secretly hide…

If it wasn’t a valentine,

And just another day of our lives,

Wouldn’t you still be mine…

That rhythm of the rain drops,

as if submerging unrealistic hopes

I whisper my love is profound,

quietly when i hear that sound…

As i take the first stride,

Imagine a person walking beside

whose touch is gentle and soft

Tenderly when i hold her aloft…

The joy of those silent conversations,

everlasting feel of her true adoration

Her presence might be precisely unreal,

It’s her existence, my heart does kneel

Why do the rain drops remind me of her,

and why do i love when we are not together

It’s the warmth of its touch that matters,

It’s the touch of her memories that matters…

Chutnefying conversation of Indian Politicians

Indian Politicians satire deepak rana blog

Narendra Modi: I have Charisma… To become next Prime Minister.

Rahul Gandhi: I have Cars and I have Maa. Both Italian.

SP and TMC: We are the wives of government, no matter which party comes into power.

Nitish Kumar: If you give special quota to Bihar, I’ll be the Prime Minister of Bihar.

Mayawati: Somebody talked about quota? That’s my copyright. By the way, BSP is the third wife of government.

Kapil Sibbal: You only talk about quota. I am the one who executes it.

Mani Shankar Aiyar: Kapil, come to Chintan Shivir. Let’s chant for Indian Obama(Rahul).

P. Chidambaram: Who will be future Obama, only time will tell. Guess people don’t read Economist.

L.K. Advani: Neither Rahul, nor Modi. Sirf chalegi Advani ki vaani… Waah

Mohan Bhagwat: Dude, that will be decided in Nagpur. May be you and Modi both can be PMs – one for India, one for Bharat.

Arvind Kejriwal: Two PM conspiracy? I will disclose that tomorrow. But there will be two Parliaments – one in Ramlila Maidan other in Jantar Mantar.

Anna Hazare: Kejriwal is India’s Julian Assange. But he is as dumb as a politician as others are.

Baba Ramdev: If not Prime Minister, make me Finance Minister – I will print more money and make India a rich country.

Abhijit Mukherji: You cannot be a minister Baba. You wear women’s clothes. You are dainted and painted.I wish i could get the presidency in heritage just like Rahul Ji.

Sonia Gandhi: Manmohan! Bring Mukherji to 10 janpath. Bring a stick also.

Manmohan Singh: Theek Hai.

Raj Thackeray: Keep chanting Theek Hai. Enemies will cross the borders soon. If i come to power, i will thrash whole Pakistan.

Owaisi: Stop the police for fifteen minutes, and you will understand who thrashes whom.

Kiran Bedi: O dear, Let me educate you about law. Your resume perfectly suits the job description of a prisoner in Tihar.

Arun Jaitley: If you seek legal advice, contact me. Despite my repeated clashes with govt in Parliament, i won’t get PM chair. Better make money somewhere else.

Sushma Swaraj: What an idea Jaitley ji. We two are on same boat i guess. Except my Hindi is slightly better. Lol.

Khaap Panchayat: Trying to be smart. You people might be pundits of Law. But we are the ones who rule the real India rather – Bharat.

Aamir Khan: Thanks guys. You’re kindly invited to the first episode of SMJ season 2.

Chetan Bhagat: Aamir, let’s make a movie also. But please give some credit to me also. My name is Chetan and i am not a writer.

Sushil Kumar Shinde: Chetan you’re a thief. You stole my statement – I am Hindu and I am not a terrorist.

Shahrukh Khan: Haha. That was copied from Badshah’s dialogue from My name is Khan.

Shashi Tharoor: As if you make original movies. Jab tak hai jaan – was from Greene’s novel. But i don’t care about politics or movies. I am busy in loving my 50 crores worthy wife.

Laloo Prasad: No one can make better love than me. I have nine kids.

Digvijay Singh: But you still don’t have power.

Nitin Gadkari: Even Congress won’t get in to power Sir. Next PM will be from BJP…

Digvijay Singh: No, it’ll be Congress…

Arnab Goswami: Keep talking. I am all set to interview next PM.

A dead silence. Manmohan Singh smiles and thinks – “Theek hai”

Coolest jobs have arrived India- Go 2013

If I ask you the reason behind working on your current job and you reply with usual answer “Money”, that would be utterly absurd. Had it been 20th century, I might have accepted that. But guess what, this is 2013. It’s the time when jobs are all about having fun. I am not particularly against those who want to make money. But if you are trapped in your job for the sake of money, it’s a mistake. Having said that, it doesn’t mean there’s not enough money in jobs. In fact there’s more money than there has ever been before. The idea is to get the salary along with amusing and exciting time at work place. If you are willing to have fun and to avoid a blood sucking job, keep reading. Based on the conversations that I have had with some of the top (and coolest) entrepreneurs, I am going to tell you about the coolest jobs that have arrived India in the recent times.

It’s highly important that you get yourself in the shoes of today’s job scenarios. The worst mistake that you can make is to compare your job with that of your parents’ or anyone who worked in twentieth century. Today the only constant thing is – change. The other mistake that you can make is to think that you would be in the same job or field till your retirement. Please, don’t do that. Else that will be a huge hurdle in your career growth in the next few years. The present and future careers will not require long resume or inflated degrees. They want smartness, street smartness. Nothing else. Mind you these jobs will pay you more than you can expect from a traditional job. Keeping these things in mind, let’s talk about some of the marvelous jobs that are already in place and expected to grow in the coming times.

1. Social Media Manager: Are you addicted to facebook, twitter, youtube and similar platforms? Do you have that ecstatic feeling being active on social media? And do you know what it takes tSocial Media Managero engage with your friends and other audience on internet? Well, if your answer is yes- you are ready for this wonderful job of Social Media Manager. All it requires is to be familiar with internet and answering the above three questions brilliantly and channelize the online platforms to benefit your business. It’s fun right? Wait, there are additional benefits. One gets to make frequent contacts with the whole world online and there’s every possibility of getting fame online. And as you grow with your network, so does your salary. The initial salary might not be that high still it’s close to that of average software engineers but the opportunities are huge.

2. Travel Expert: You might say that they have existed since forever, there’s nothing new about it. Yes they did, but the context has changed, a lot. Today’s travel consultants don’t keep sitting in the air conditioned rooms and their salaries are not as limited as they used to be. Today, the travel consultants keep traveling all the time.

travel-tourism-man-jumping

They keep a tablet or a laptop with themselves which connect them with the world. They travel to the places where not many have been before. And that’s where the USP comes from. It’s almost mandatory for a travel expert to be a good photographer and a reasonably good writer. That’s all, no specific degree is required. One needs to be a good explorer with excellent communication skills and huge passion for traveling. Imagine you will get to see a different world every day at work. Depending on your work and caliber you may end up doing a TV show for a reality channel or writing in travel magazine. Let’s see how far you can go.

3. Corporate Teacher: This is one job where your educational degree will play a major role in deciding your starting salary. That is more likely to happen if you want to start your career with a big organization. Corporate-Training-TSCorporate teachers are the ones who are expert in their own domains and who want to share their knowledge with corporate employees. This is one of the highest paying jobs in the current scenario. The background education of a corporate teacher may vary from humanities to engineering to finance depending on the training that one will be indulged in. As a corporate teacher you only have to teach adults and hence makes it much more interesting and interactive. Again the best thing is the fun that you will have during the sessions. You get a chance to meet new people, visit new places, do new experiments whatever you want, and all that pays you. Can’t get better, right?

4. Jingle Writer: Forget about your degree. What matters here is – your creativity, sense of music and combine these two to write catchy lines and create a jingle.Woman's Fingers on Digital Piano Keys

With an immense increase in the number of commercials being shown on TV or internet, the ad makers are eager to bring fresh ideas and therefore there’s huge need for such talent. You have to be creative enough to come up with captivating taglines, songs, parodies and tunes. The starting salary in this job may be low but as you learn the Mantra of jingles, there will be too many dollars waiting for you.

5. Free Lance Jobs: Don’t want to keep hanging with a job and looking to work on your own? Fair enough, a number of free lance jobs are waiting for you- just identify your talent and sell it.

freelance

You may be a writer, tutor, a techie – designing their own apps, researcher, adviser or basically anything. You will provide services to your clients and deal with them directly. You may have huge works sometimes and you may have nothing at all. But you will be your own boss. This may give certain type of insecurity to certain people. If you are one of them , then switch to traditional jobs. But the free lance jobs are trending like never before. There is huge money that one can make in such jobs. You need to utilize the opportunities and work smartly. What matters most is to have a web of network around yourself, that alone will be sufficient to provide you the right opportunities.

“I think Career is a 20th Century Invention, and I don’t want one.” – a quote from In to the Wild tells how important it is to switch to the freedom and joy from the typical monotonous jobs. This is the time to make a change. You are the architect of your own career. Design it well in 2013.

Wake up India: If not now, when?

Scene 1: A young couple is traveling in a bus around midnight near South Delhi. They are going home after watching a movie. Delhi looks different in the night and so is the mindset of the people. The girl appears panicked as a group of drunk men sitting in the bus is making her feel uncomfortable. One of the men starts abusing the girl and tries to molest her. The boy sitting with the girl couldn’t tolerate this and slapped that man. The other men of the group latched on to the boy and what happened after that we all are well aware. A gang rape – that changed girl’s life.

Scene 2: The couple is traveling in a bus at around midnight in South Delhi. The girl gets panicked as a group of drunk men sitting in the bus is making her feel distressed. One of the men starts abusing the girl and tries to molest her. This time boy dials 100 and informs the police. The police traces that bus and even though boy and girl suffered minor injuries during that time yet a big mishap that could have happened, was avoided.

Of course in the second case, the assumption that police will do its work perfectly might not be hundred percent reasonable but we cannot eliminate this possibility as well.

Image

Delhi gang rape case was one of the worst acts that humanity could witness. Quite understandably the culprits in this case deserve capital punishment or probably worse if possible. But does that assure there won’t be more cases of rapes, harassment or eve teasing. Looking at the statistics, we can easily conclude that Delhi is also a rape capital of our country. It’s high time to find the long term solution for that. Before that, we should have a look at the short term options. First and foremost we have to be in a state of readiness for such situations. Relying on police, governments and laws can’t be a safe bet. Let’s talk about the crimes in general and their short remedies before we get in to the rapes and harassment.

Studies suggest that a criminal doesn’t think about the punishment while committing a crime. What drives them is the urge and desire to get what they want by going against the law. And we all shall agree upon a simple thought that- prevention in case of criminal acts is  better than any cure. Given the large population of our country, it becomes almost impossible for police to reach every part and therefore only our own preparedness for such crisis situations can help us.

We use the term Education for our learning that we acquire, share and transfer and that helps in living a life comfortably. So what our Education is doing in such scenarios. Sleeping like our educationists? Most schools and colleges teach a lot of stuff that has zero meaning in real life situations. Why not a education institute gives us training on what to do when Kasab attacks you, or when something like this rape case happens? Why not military training or crisis training for the civilians. Mind you such training not only prepares you physically but also on how to use your brain in crisis situations. But sadly, we prefer to shed a tear or two than fighting against such heinous acts.

Image

Secondly, the role of police- to keep the citizens secure. We are familiar with our police and we also know that it’s almost impossible to file an FIR without giving few thousands. But if we remain silent, that will be equally wrong. We need to make an issue of it every time we face such situation and not wait until such tragedy happens. One of the simplest things that we can do is to dial 100 instead of gong to the police station. That way it becomes mandatory for police to file an FIR and proceed.

Thirdly, the laws and governance which have the right and power to bring reforms and change the system. For example, there is no capital punishment provision for rape cases. What can common man or police do in this case when all the culprits have been locked but the worst they can get is life imprisonment. There are few loopholes in our criminal laws as mentioned about the rape case, even more in the procedural laws due to which people die before their court cases get to a conclusion. There has to be a time limit on the court trials.

Long term solution for harassment against women:

If someone asks me about the solution, I will not say – our own readiness, police intervention, and governments & laws. Instead I will put a simple statement honestly – Dear Indians, Get over sex.

In India, premarital sex is considered as taboo and no matter how much education people get, their idea of sex remains the same. They will do it, that’s for sure but will try to act as if they know nothing about it. My question is- why?

Sex is the basic need of humans we need to accept that reality. So what happens when a young man in his twenties has an urge for sex, specially when he is unmarried.

ImageLet’s take a look at the options he has- Go around and look for prostitutes but that is not a safe option both from Police and STD point of view. Or he can look around for sex but our society doesn’t permit that. So what happens in such cases, is that men start looking for opportunities where they can get from. If they are educated, they will most likely suppress their desires. Even educated men are found these days harassing their colleagues. If you talk about naive uneducated men, they might cross their limits. The idea here is not to justify such actions but to tell the cause and real picture of our society. 4 out of 5 men crave for sex in our country and no matter whether one accepts it or not, reality won’t change. Women on the other hand have comparably lesser desire for sex as the self control in their case is reasonably high.

Two things will have a long term effect- legalizing prostitution and promoting sex education. We have to understand the basic psyche and mindset of men. Sex remains an important issue which remains out of our discussions and therefore people have so many myths about it. As I said earlier, people have to get over it else it will not be possible to eradicate such woeful acts.

One might say that similar laws exist in other parts of India but the rape figures are far below compared to Delhi. Again, it’s just not about the rapes. It’s about the intentions of the men. Also, the comparison of different states will only add to further confusion and no conclusion. If we talk about an educated society, we need to have education system which also addresses important issues like Sex. Today, I dream for a nation where not only rapes cease to exist but the thoughts and intentions of men also get purified. A woman brings us in to this world and we need to give her the respect that she deserves. Hope you all will join me.

Imagining a new future

We all feel great working in a MNC and we tend to enjoy the comfort and facilities there. In one and a half year’s corporate world experience one question kept troubling me- Who I am working for? This was not just about me, so many people around kept asking the same question. And what I have concluded from the observations I made that -during the initial part of your career you are dazzled by the hefty salaries and big brand names. But as the time passes you start asking yourself- Is this what you really want to do? Is your work making any impact on others or is it just a formality you are doing to collect the paycheck by the end of the month? This often leads to poor job satisfaction as one gets more experienced. And this was where I did not want to land.
I always had a curiosity about the education sector and the career choices we(the Indians) make. From my experience in an engineering college and then corporate world I have realized that most of us make poor career decisions because of our ignorance and lack of career guidance. I strongly believe that right career choices made at important stages have a huge impact not just on your career but also your life. This thought and vision encouraged me to leave a lucrative job and start working for MeraCareerGuide (http://www.meracareerguide.com– a leading career guidance platform. All the team members are highly motivated and are always open to fresh ideas. On a personal level, this is quite an amazing  experience for me as the fellow members are keen to listen and implement new innovative techniques.

I think working in a start up is going to be different for me and also extremely valuable one. In a start up setting you have to work for everything. There are no boundaries of your work. The sense of responsibility is more and hence the growth. In a day’s time I have realized the fact that if you work in a start up you don’t work for your boss. Instead you work for a combined vision of the organization. You don’t need any external reason to be motivated, you’re naturally driven from inside.
Now every day brings new challenges, new quests and I tackle them every minute every second. An organization  where work is not a work but a challenge combined with fun, I am optimistic about the tremendous growth of MeraCareerGuide in the near future. As I start my sail in the ship of MeraCareerGuide, I feel excited and hopeful about my success along with the ship.
